A method for acquiring a right to use a channel in a wireless LAN is provided to stably guarantee a quality of service of a real time stream in an ad-hoc mode which does not use an AP(Access Point) and to transmit an image stream to a receiver through the continuous use of the channels. A method for acquiring a right to use a channel in a wireless LAN includes the steps of: at a transmitter, transmitting a data frame having time information in which a predetermined occupied time is added to an NAV(Network Allocation Vector) time to a receiver; at the receiver, transmitting an ACK(Acknowledgement) frame having the occupied time; at the transceiver, acquiring the right of channel use according to the elapse of a DIFS(DCF Interference Space) time and a backoff delay time(S610) when a peripheral wireless LAN device stands by for the occupied time; and when data to be transmitted does not exist, transmitting the ACK frame including NAV time information of 0; and at the peripheral wireless LAN device, acquiring the right of channel use according to the DIFS time and the backoff delay time.
