A water tank for a steam cleaner and the steam cleaner using the same are provided to be able to change only a heater in the heater failure by forming a heater installing hole at a bottom of a storing unit body and detachably installing a heater, thereby reducing cost for replacing parts. A steam cleaner using a water tank includes a push stick unit(10), a connecting unit, a steam generating unit, an electric cable(51), and a winding device(50). The steam generating unit includes a cover housing(31), a bottom plate(35), and a water tank(40). The cover housing includes rotation projections(32) at both sides. Hinge grooves of the connecting unit are inserted into the rotating projections. The water tank includes a storing unit and a heater. The storing unit stores water. The heater is installed at the storing unit and heats the water. A heater installing hole is formed at a bottom of the storing unit. The heater has a shape of a block with a flange at an edge, and is detachably installed in the heater installing hole.
