APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DRIVING A DISPLAY PANEL BY COMPENSATING TEMPERATURE

An apparatus and a method for driving a display panel are provided to enhance adaptability of a driving voltage on temperature variation by setting the width of a temperature interval narrower. A temperature sensor(510) outputs temperature data(DT) for every temperature intervals. A temperature interval register(520) stores temperature interval data(G1~G8) representing the respective temperature intervals. A comparator(530) compares the temperature data with the temperature interval data and outputs comparison data(D1~D8). A voltage level register(540) stores voltage level data(L1~L8) corresponding to different levels of driving voltages. A voltage level controller(550) selects voltage level data corresponding to the comparison data and outputs voltage level control signals(EV1~EV8) corresponding to the selected voltage level data. A driver(560) outputs driving voltage(Vop1~Vop8) corresponding to the voltage level control signals.
