A method for recovering a server error in a TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) layer is provided to enable a user to access a required website in a normal state without outputting an error message when a dormant timer is ended and a client receives an FIN packet. A method for recovering a server error in a TCP layer includes the steps of: transmitting TCP data while a client requests an access to a website to a server(S310); setting a dormant flag if a remaining time up to a dormant state is within a predetermined time(S320); checking the dormant flag in case of receiving an FIN(Fin Flag) or an RST(Reset Flag) packet from the server(S330); generating an error event if the dormant flag is not set, and generating a retry event if the dormant flag is set(S340); and automatically closing a TCP socket if the retry event is generated(S360), opening a new TCP socket, and retrying the access to the website(S380).
