METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TESTING OF STRESS CORROSION CRACKING ON ALUMINUM-BRASS HEATING COIL TUBE BY LOCAL DEFORMING TECHNIQUE

A method and apparatus for testing stress corrosion cracking on an aluminum-brass heating coil tube by local deforming technique are provided to effectively obtain basic information for quality management. An apparatus for testing stress corrosion cracking on an aluminum-brass heating coil tube by local deforming technique includes a specimen(20). The specimen is pressed to form a pressed mark(21) having a pressed mark size represented as a large diameter. The specimen having the pressed mark is used in the stress corrosion cracking test. As a result, residual stress is generated around the pressed mark, and then, the stress corrosion cracking is generated. The stress corrosion cracking is used as a determination reference when the aluminum-brass heating coil tube is installed in the field.
