A method for obtaining reproductive shoots of common chicory in an in vitro culture includes stimulating the formation of the reproductive shoots in the first year of plant ontogenetic development, using gibberellic acid, morphological and cytological analysis of plant forms, selecting the plants forming the reproductive shoots. Cloned plants cultivated on the modified Murashige-Skoog nutrient medium supplemented with growth regulators, in particular gibberellic acid in a concentration of 1.0-2.0 mg/l and indolebutyric acid in a concentration of 0.1-2.0 mg/l, are used as the initial material.
