METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE ELECTRIC STRENGTH OF A CELLULAR MEMBRANE

The proposed method for determining the electric strength of a cellular membrane consists in applying voltage, which increases from the initial zero value to the specified finite value according to the specified characteristic, to electrodes immersed in the analyzed medium and measuring the dependence of the conductivity of the medium on the electric field strength. The characteristic that defines the said dependence is approximated by two straight lines. The coordinates of the point of the intersection of these lines are used for determining the electric field strength depending of the conductivity of the medium at the electric breakdown of the cellular membrane.
