METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE YIELD STRENGTH OF MATERIAL

The proposed method for determining the yield strength of material implies deforming the planar ring-shaped material sample under pressure that is uniformly applied to the inside or outside surface of the sample. The method is distinctive by using, for the purpose to maintain the linear stress of the sample, the sample with the specified ratio between the inside diameter and the outside diameter. The yield strength is determined by the pressure that induces the plastic deformation of the sample.
