The box has an upper part (2) remote from an upper plane (6) of a storage part when the box is closed, where the box is obtained from a single blank of a precut material. A cover part has peripheral sides (1, 3, 9, 10) oriented towards a base (4) and fitted around peripheral walls (7, 11, 12). The side (3) ensures an articulated connection between the storage and the cover parts, and an opening (21) of the plane has tabs (20). The tabs are opposite to the opening, and each tab partially folds towards an interior of the storage part by removing the passage of element in the storage part. An independent claim is also included for a blank for making a meal tray box.
