A payment system for a complex transaction card and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to use a credit card and a prepaid card at the same time according to user selection, and conveniently expand an approval limit conveniently expand an approval limit without additional measures by additionally considering the approval limit of another card if the approval limit of one card exceeds a payment amount.
