<p>The process for making an interior trim component with a supple outer skin (14) and an inner rigid backing layer (10) that can be deformed by higher degrees of force, and a foam between them, consists of injecting a foam-forming fluid between the skin and backing layer in a mould. The backing layer is made with at least one fastening element (24) in the region of the injection orifice, and a second fastening element (26) is inserted into the mould before it is closed to prevent the backing layer from separating from the mould when the fluid is injected. The fastening elements are made, for example, in the form of an inclined rib on the backing layer and a shaped peg to engage with it.</p> |
