A method of manufacturing water containing selenium ions and potassium ions by heating quartz porphyry, mixing water and then heating is provided. The water is odorless, colorless and tasteless, can be used in cooking and contains selenium ions and potassium ions needed in small amounts for good health. Quartz porphyry is finely ground, heated at a temperature above the melting point of selenium and potassium for a predetermined time, added with a predetermined amount of water and heated. The heated water is cooled and allowed to settle to separate residues.
