A control system is provided to prevent a hybrid electric vehicle from being thrust at the condition of starting after stopping in a slant road by deciding the state of a road surface without delay of time. The control system includes an engine(90), a motor(80), an operation request detection portion(10), an ECU(20), a TCU(30), a battery(40), a BMS(50), an HCU/MCU(60) and an inverter(70). When the vehicle velocity and the operation signal of a brake pedal fulfill the control condition for preventing thrust, the HCU/MCU extracts acceleration components from the vehicle velocity and the signal of a tilt angle signal sensor and applies the acceleration components to control a device for preventing thrust.
