<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display apparatus capable of alleviating eyesore, as an input memorandum is displayed when it is not needed. <P>SOLUTION: An institution for the memorandum to be input is selected by touching an icon 31 displayed on a display monitor 16. Then, the memorandum is input by touching a display screen of the display monitor 16 and by drawing a letter and a figure, and thereafter, a period for displaying the memorandum is set.
