<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operationality of an image display apparatus equipped with a display screen with a touch panel function when an image is displayed on an external device. <P>SOLUTION: The image display apparatus comprises: a monitor 15 integrally formed with a touch panel 17; a display control section 14 for controlling the image and an operation button to be displayed on the monitor 15; a coordinate value detection section 16 for detecting a coordinate value of the monitor 15 at a touch position; a CPU 11 for selecting the operation button displayed on the monitor 15 based on the detected coordinate value; an image information generation section 18 for generating image information for displaying the image in which the image and the operation button are superimposed on the display apparatus 900; an output terminal 19 for outputting the image information to the external device; a detection section 20 for detecting a display switching operation for switching the display of the image from the display screen to the external device.
