<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable broadcast receiver capable of decreasing a recorded data amount to the utmost extent in the case of receiving a broadcast program including caption data and recording the program. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of recording a program, a TS generating section 32 packtizes data output from decoders 24, 25, 26 respectively to reconfigure transport streams (partial TS). Further, the TS generating section 32 executes processing of caption characters supplied from a caption decoder 25 to incorporate the caption characters into the partial TS as caption text data in the case of generating the partial TS, and processing of omitting caption management data. Further, when receiving a signal denoting no presence of captions from a caption presence/no presence discrimination section 33, the TS generating section 32 inserts information denoting caption non-display to the partial TS. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
