<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable image formation in an image forming apparatus of a cleanerless system by satisfactorily removing transfer residual toner and image history such as transfer residual charges. <P>SOLUTION: A rotatory brush 8A is disposed downstream of a transfer section d and upstream of a charging roller 2. A non-rotatory brush 7A is disposed downstream of the rotatory brush 8A. A DC voltage of a polarity opposite to that of the charging roller 2 and an AC voltage are applied to the rotatory brush 8A from a power source S5. A DC voltage of a polarity same as that of the charging roller 2 is applied to the non-rotatory brush 7A from the power source S4. Further, the non-rotatory brush 7A is moved forward and backward along the generatrix direction of the photoreceptor drum 1. These operations make it possible to disperse transfer residual toner in the rotating direction and generatrix direction of the photoreceptor drum and to erase a transfer residual potential. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
