PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical alkaline battery improved in productivity by stabilizing a processing condition, and improved in reliability by preventing a welding part from being easily separated and by reducing dimensional dispersion, in a cylindrical alkaline battery with an explosion-proof valve function installed in a positive electrode terminal part. SOLUTION: In this cylindrical alkaline battery where an explosion-proof valve mechanism for executing a degassing operation by rise of battery internal pressure is installed between the positive electrode terminal part 13 and the inside of a positive electrode can 11, the explosion-proof valve mechanism is installed by welding and jointing it in a state stacked on a center surface part of the bottom part of the positive electrode can 11, and a flat shoulder surface part 15 of the bottom part of the positive electrode can 11 is exposed to the outside of the center surface part with the explosion-proof valve function installed thereon.
