PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the delay in a host I/O response that performs synchronous copying processing due to the delay in the response of the synchronous copying processing due to the influence of a writing load due to asynchronous copy processing. SOLUTION: In this storage system including the master-side storage device and the remote-side storage device having a cache memory, data are copied from the master-side storage device to the remote-side storage device. The master-side storage device is provided with a remote-side condition monitoring part for monitoring the usage condition of the cache memory in the remote-side storage device and adjusting the load of the asynchronous copy processing, according to the usage condition of the cache memory in the remote-side storage device, when the synchronous copy processing, where the data are copied synchronously with an I/O of a host connected to the master-side storage device, and the asynchronous copy processing that performs copying processing asynchronously are mixed.
