PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily producing an alkyl glycoside excellent in hue. SOLUTION: This method for producing the alkoxy glycoside by reacting a sugar with a monohydric alcohol under an acid catalyst is provided by after the reaction and before the removal of unreacted monohydric alcohol by distillation, treating the reaction mixture with an adsorbent containing a compounded metal oxides consisting of 5-20 wt.% aluminum oxide and 50-90 wt.% silicon oxide or an adsorbent containing a compounded metal oxide consisting of 10-20 wt.% magnesium oxide and 50-80 wt.% silicon oxide.
