PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high purity single-walled carbon nanotubes each having an enlarged diameter. SOLUTION: This method comprises a diameter-enlarging treatment process for heating raw material carbon nanotubes in a vacuum degree of≤1.3×10-2Pa at the temperature of 1,500-2,000°C, preferably of 1,700-2,000°C.
