PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side shade device with a simple constitution, which covers the whole area of a non-rectangular door window. SOLUTION: The side shade device S is provided with: a sheet 21 for covering an opening 2a surrounded by a window frame 3 of a door 1; a roll shade part 22 for rolling up the sheet 21; and a deployment means (drive part 10 and guide part 30) for deploying the sheet 21 by drawing out a free end side of the sheet 21. The deployment means is provided with: a guide rail 31 arranged along an edge of the opening 2a; a slider 32 guided along the guide rail 31; the drive part 10 for moving the slider 32 along the guide rail 31; an expandable/contractable expansion/contraction member 34 moved along the guide rail 31 following movement of the slider 32 and supporting a free end side of the sheet 21; and an expansion/contraction means 40 for expanding/contracting the expansion/contraction member 34 interlocking with development storage action of the sheet 21.
