PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lash adjuster capable of reducing internal pressure and suppressing increase of size of this sealed lash adjuster irrespective of reduction of internal pressure and to provide a liquid sealing amount adjusting method for the sealed lash adjuster. SOLUTION: This sealed lash adjuster 100A is composed of a plunger 2A having a reservoir chamber 10A filled with oil and air in its inside and having a recycle hole 2Ac communicating with the reservoir chamber 10A from a sliding face and a communicating hole 2Ab communicating with a high pressure chamber 11 in a rear end part from the reservoir chamber 10A and a body 1 storing the plunger 2A slidably. Oil is sealed in such a way that volume "V1" of gas in a condition in which the plunger 2A protrudes the most at manufacturing time becomes 1.34 times the sum of volume "Vo1" of oil discharged from the high pressure chamber 11 when it becomes a Bottomed condition from an Extended condition and volume "Vo2" of oil heat-expanded more than the manufacturing time at the highest use temperature at use time or more.
