PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating cycle apparatus that reduces the quantity of a lubricant flowing from an expansion mechanism to an evaporator, while preventing leakage by the stable axial sealing of a scroll expansion mechanism, and to provide high efficiency without deteriorating the heat exchange capability of the evaporator. SOLUTION: A refrigerating cycle apparatus include a back pressure chamber 217 situated at the rear of a whirling scroll 205 for exerting back pressure to press the whirling scroll 205 to a fixed scroll 204, and a communication passage 220 for communicating between an evaporator outlet and an arbitrary position of a compression chamber of the compressor constituting a refrigerating cycle apparatus together with the scroll expansion mechanism.
