<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent squeaking of a blade and turn-up of the blade due to the depletion of toner at a cleaning nip part and also to prevent image staining occurring because toner slipping through the cleaning nip part adheres to an image. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning blade is made to abut on a photoreceptor drum so as to remove toner left after transfer. In order to prevent the squeaking and the turn-up of the blade due to the depletion of the toner at the abutting part, a toner band is formed on the photoreceptor drum and supplied to the abutting part every time images are formed by predetermined number of sheets (for example, 50 sheets). Then, a discharge mode for discharging the toner on a transfer roller onto the photoreceptor drum is performed (S6) only when a low-speed mode in which the toner easily slips through the abutting part is designated (S1) and is selected within the predetermined number of image forming operation times after supplying the toner band. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
