<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove discharge products stuck to the surface of an image carrier without unnecessarily abrading the image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: An upstream side fixed brush 34 is opened and a downstream side rotary brush 48 is connected to a negative power supply 54 and set to a state that -1kV voltage is applied. Then, the upstream side fixed brush 34 is connected to a plus power supply 52 and the downstream side rotary brush 48 is held at the state connected to the negative power supply 54. Consequently, the current value of a current flowing into an ammeter 150, i.e. the current value of a current flowing from the downstream side rotary brush 48 into a photoreceptor 13, is changed. A variation ΔL is a leak current flowing between the upstream side fixed brush 34 and the downstream side rotary brush 48, and when the leak current value ΔL becomes larger than a current value by which an image flow is generated, a removing process for removing discharge products stuck to the surface of the photoreceptor 13 is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
