<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic means for malignancy evaluation of a cancer patient or cancer cells and measuring the tendency of suffering from the cancer in a normal person using a factor derived from a human cancer cell and having a cancer-associated gene-activating function. <P>SOLUTION: By obtaining a peptide having the cancer-associated gene-activating function from the cellular membrane surface of human squamous cell carcinoma and synthesizing a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide or its partial amino acid sequence which are used as a diagnostic agent for evaluating the malignancy of the cancer patient or cancer cells, and measuring the tendency of suffering from the cancer in the normal person. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
