PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a store capacity and a storage capacity without reducing an aperture ratio of pixels in a field-sequential liquid crystal display (LCD) device wherein each pixel has the store capacity and the storage capacity. SOLUTION: The LCD device includes a LCD panel and a back light for successively radiating light in a plurality of colors, and the LCD panel has a plurality of pixels each of which has a pixel electrode, and each pixel has the store capacity and the storage capacity having one terminal connected to the pixel electrode. In a first period, an image voltage written in the store capacity of each pixel is collectively applied to the pixel electrode of the pixel. In a second period following the first period, an image voltage is successively written in the store capacity of each pixel, and the back light causes light to be emitted in a color corresponding to the image voltage applied to the pixel electrode.
