PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing electrostatic charge image developing toner in which an external additive is added and preliminarily mixed in a drying process to color resin particles which is obtained through a granulation process by a wet process so that the total required time of the external addition process is reduced and that the external additive can be uniformly and firmly deposited on the surfaces of the color resin particles. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrostatic charge image developing toner includes a process of forming color resin particles containing a binder resin and a colorant to obtain a water dispersion liquid of color resin particles by a wet process of granulating color resin particles in an aqueous dispersion medium containing a dispersion stabilizer, a process of cleaning the water dispersion liquid of the color resin particles, a dehydrating process and a drying process, wherein the color resin particles in a wet state obtained in the dehydration process are dried until the water content is reduced to 15% or lower, then the color resin particles with 50 wt.% or more of the whole amount of an external additive are dried by a drier having a stirring means while operating the stirring means until the water content is reduced to 3% or lower, and then the obtained color resin particles after the drying process are stirred with a high-speed stirring machine.
