PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform visual examination using an illumination means which has a simple structure, is reduced in the deterioration life even if lighting and lights-off are repeated and performs surface emission. SOLUTION: The visual examination device is equipped with a box 1 constituted so that the front thereof is opened and other five surfaces are shaded and installed on a floor, the holding part 2 and the outside holding part 3 which are arranged in the box 1 to hold an inspection target so as to revolve the same centering around two shafts crossing each other at a right angle and constituted so that one of two shafts is supported by an expansion and contracting support member 12, a drive mechanism 4 for revolving the holding part 2 and the outside holding part 3 centering around two shafts crossing each other at a right angle to incline them, the first and second illumination means 5 and 6 respectively arranged to the ceiling part and rear wall part of the box 1, constituted so that a large number of with color LEDs 20 and orange color LEDs 21 densely arranged in a planar state to perform surface emission and illuminating the inspection target held to the holding part 2, and an illumination control means for controlling the lighting and lights-off of the first and second illumination means 5 and 6.
