PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection welded bolt having improved welding quality by setting the shape of the head of a projection bolt in correlation to a melted form during welding, and to provide its welding method. SOLUTION: The projection welded bolt 1 comprises a shaft part 2, a large diameter part 3 formed integrally with the shaft part 2, a welded projection 4 arranged at the center of the large diameter part, and a melt enlarged part 7 formed by connecting the outer periphery of the large diameter part 3 and a base 5 of the welded projection 4 via an inclined face 6. The volume of the welded projection 4 is set to be smaller than the volume of the melt enlarged part 7. This actualizes good welding in a proper melted condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
