PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for contributing to decrease in volume of a crank chamber while utilizing the upper surface disposition of a switching member in a working tool, the tip tool of which is linearly operated in the direction of major axis to perform predetermined machining work. SOLUTION: This working tool includes: a work tool body part 103; the crank chamber 151; a clutch mechanism 114; a clutch mechanism 124 for the crank mechanism; and a switching member 155. Further, the work tool includes: an opening part 168 connecting the crank chamber 151 and the outside; a rotary member 166 performing rotating operation while blocking up the opening part; and a switching operation transmitting mechanism 163 disposed outside the crank chamber 151 to connect the switching member 155 and the rotary member 166, and transmitting the switching operation of the switching member 155 by manual operation of a user of the work tool to the rotary member 166. Further, the rotary member 166 has an operating means 167 extending in the direction of the crank chamber, and the operating means 167 switches the state between the power transmit state of the clutch mechanism 14 and the power shut-off state by utilizing the rotating operation of the rotary member 166.
