The device has a rotatably supported closure part e.g. closure holder support (11), at which a coupling lever (23) is rotatably linked, and prestressed by a spring against the closure part. A motor drive engages at the coupling lever and rotates the coupling lever for implementing closure movement of the vehicle part together with the closure part. The drive is operationally decoupled from the closure part in the consequence of deviation of the lever relative to the closure part, when a barrier present in a movement path of the vehicle part prevents deviation of the closure part.
