Control arrangement for windscreen wiper unit, comprises delay mechanism and timer

An ignition control (3), an electric drive (4), a switch (5), and a holding relay (7) are integrated in the power circuit (1) of a windscreen wiper unit. A delay mechanism (13) which can be a standard timer, is connected to the relay (7) and can be used in an on- and an off-mode. The timer (13) can be adjusted to the appropriate time in order to switch the wiper drive off a short time after the engine has stopped. A temperature sensor (17) can be integrated in the system in order to avoid the wiper blades sticking to the windscreen in the case of freezing. An independent claim is given for a method of control for a windscreen wiper unit.
