The gasket includes at least one resilient metal layer (10) of spring steel sheet. It has a single channel (14), which is resiliently-deformable in its height and is subjected to dynamic pressure loading during use. The spring steel sheet is made from austenitic steel, in accordance with the European Standard EN 10088-2-1.4372. Cold-rolled steel sheet forms the sheet metal layer. Its tensile strength corresponds with class C1300. The composition is specified in the disclosure.
