1281327 Heat exchangers HEAD WRIGHTSON & CO Ltd 12 Jan 1971 [14 Jan 1970] 1819/70 Heading F4S A heat exchanger comprises a tube plate having at least two separate portions 1, 2 joined by a relatively thin walled tubular member 3 which is shielded from the flow of fluids through the heat exchanger. The tube 3 is shielded by thermal insulation material, e.g. asbestos wool on one side and by a partition 6 on the other side which partition divides a header 5 into inlet and outlet compartments. An annular member 16 and/or thermal insulation material seal the space between the partition 6 and the tube 3. Baffles 8, 11, 12 of L-shaped annular, disc and annular form respectively are provided within a shell 4. The member 3 may be frusto-conical rather than cylindrical. In other embodiments, the tube plate includes three concentric portions connected by two tubes 3. |
