<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor preventing its detection accuracy on a gas under measurement from lowering by preventing a filter from being extremely deformed owing to the crimping of a casing, as to a gas sensor of a structure wherein a columnar filter is disposed in a seal member crimpedly fixed to the casing. <P>SOLUTION: An air inlet 132 is provided substantially in the middle of the seal member 13 provided on an external cylinder member 11 surrounding a sensor element 2. A columnar filter 133 is disposed within the air inlet 132 via a metal cup 134. The seal member 13 is crimpedly fixed by the cylinder member 11. In cases where a second crimp part 115 is formed, even if part of the seal member 13 corresponding to the crimp part 115 is inwardly compression-deformed, the metal cup 134 receives compressive force of the seal member 13, making it possible to prevent the filter 133 provided inside of the metal cup 134 from being extremely deformed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
