<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control apparatus and a motor control method which are capable of correcting a phase difference, while controlling the speed of a body to be driven or a motor to a desired speed, thereby quickly controlling the speed and the phase difference to a desired value, and to provide an image forming apparatus to which the motor control apparatus is applied. <P>SOLUTION: The phase difference between photoreceptor drums 3Y and 3M is detected by a phase difference detecting section 141M, calculated by a transfer function calculating section 143M, and then, inputted to a subtractor 145M. The subtractor 145M subtracts the input from a speed detected by a speed detecting section 124M and further inputs the speed after the subtraction to a subtractor 125M and the speed after the subtraction is provided for feedback control by a speed controller 122M. Therefore, the phase difference can be corrected while acceleration is performed at startup time. In addition, the transfer function calculating section 143M makes the gain high at startup time and after that, gradually makes the gain lower.
