<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content transfer device and a content transfer method which can perform content transmission according to user's desire and environment of a receiver side. <P>SOLUTION: The content transfer device establishes a chapter position at each predetermined position for one of content data, and divides the data for each chapter maintaining attribute of each chapter. Moreover, the device decides priority order for each chapter, and can transmit only chapters of high priority order to a transfer destination terminal.
