PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that troublesome work is forced for the correction of partial color tone failures when a user adjusts the gray scale of image data outputted by a color printer to an optional color tone. SOLUTION: A color tone as the entire gray scale is selected in S101, and first color conversion processing for converting the gray components of image data to the selected color tone is generated in S102. The first color conversion processing is executed to a prescribed gray scale chart and it is outputted from the color printer in S103, and a gray level to be a correction object is indicated in the outputted gray scale chart in S104. Then, second color conversion processing for correcting the color tone for the correction object gray level is generated in S105, and third color conversion processing is generated on the basis of the first color conversion processing and the second color conversion processing in S106. By executing the third color conversion processing to the image data to be an output object by the color printer, desired gray reproduction is achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
