PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain communication equipment for enabling a return mail recipient to easily discriminate a quoted part from newly inputted text without requiring special control to receive return mail in receiving side communication equipment. SOLUTION: The communication equipment is provided with a receiving part 3 for receiving e-mail including text, a transmitting part 2 for transmitting e-mail including text, an operating part 8 for inputting characters, and a control part for generating e-mail having text composed of characters inputted from the operating part and characters obtained by quoting at least a portion of text of the e-mail received by the receiving part. In this case, the color of character display of the characters obtained by quoting the text of the e-mail received by the receiving part is different from the color of character display of the characters inputted from the operating part 8.
