PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for an outdoor installation type water heater capable of preventing intrusion of rain water and the like without using a packing and a seal. SOLUTION: This housing has an upper and lower two-piece door 4 comprising an upper door 2 and a lower door 3 on its front face, and comprises a closely-attached rear face 21 formed on a rear face of a lower portion of the upper door 2 continuously from a front face of the upper door 2 to a corner, a closely-attached front face 31 formed on a front face of an upper portion of the lower door 3 continuously from a front face of the lower door 3 to the corner, and a step 34 directed to a rear face of the lower door 3 with respect to its front face, and formed between the front face of the lower door 3 and the closely-attached front face 31 corresponding to a lower edge portion of the closely-attached rear face 21. The closely-attached rear face 21 is placed on and overlapped to the closely-attached front face 31, thus the housing 1 of the outdoor installation-type water heater 100 is sealed up. The step 34 is smaller than a plate thickness of the upper door 2, and the closely-attached front face 31 has a projecting portion 35 projecting from the closely-attached front face 31 toward the closely-attached rear face 21.
