PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sitting posture judgement system which automatically judges whether the sitting posture of an occupant is adequate or not without gaze of a posture of an occupant on a seat next to a driver or a rear seat of a vehicle by a driver and secures the safety of the occupant by urging the occupant to optimize the sitting posture when the sitting posture is inadequate. SOLUTION: The occupant sitting judgement system is provided with a photographing means for photographing the seat next to the driver or/and the rear seat of the vehicle, a sitting posture extraction means for extracting the sitting posture of the occupant from an image captured by the photographing means, a sitting posture judgement means for judging whether the sitting posture of the occupant is adequate or not by comparing the sitting posture of the occupant extracted by the sitting posture extraction means with a preliminarily recorded adequate sitting posture, and a means for generating an alarm when the sitting posture is judged inadequate by the sitting posture judgement means.
