PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather strip for an automobile easy to be mounted and capable of precluding noise transmission from a flange certainly even if the tip of the flange involves dispersed dimensions. SOLUTION: The weather strip for the automobile includes a mounting base part to be attached to the flange 7 and a seal part formed at the mounting base part in consolidation and to seal the gaps between an opening/closing member for the body opening and the peripheral edges of the body opening. The mounting base part is formed at least from a bottom wall 23 and extra-vehicular side-walls 21. A double-sided adhesive tape 25 is affixed to the intra-vehicle side face of each extra-vehicular side-wall 21. The bottom wall 23 is formed from a hard member, and a hollow sound insulation part 26 is formed on the inner surface of the bottom wall 23. The hollow sound insulation part 26 is formed as having an approximately triangular section from a soft material, and the triangular section is configured so that its surface whereto the flange 7 abuts is formed as a slope in which the forefront of the bottom wall 23 is positioned high and the root part positioned low.
