PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the deterioration of a pressure detection signal due to the run-off of electric current through a wiring capacity, and thereby, ensure the accurate detection of a discharge abnormality, even in case high density wiring for transmitting the pressure detection signal is arranged. SOLUTION: The liquid discharge device comprises the following components: (1) a plurality of pressure sensors 20 which are installed each in a plurality of pressure chambers and detect the internal pressure of each pressure chamber, (2) a plurality of wirings 31 each connected with each of a plurality of the pressure sensors 20, (3) a signal detection part 170 to which an output signal is inputted from the pressure sensors 20 through the wirings 31, (4) a selection part 160 which selects the wiring 31 to be connected with the signal detection part 170, and (5) a control means which makes the selection part 160 select one wiring 31 from among the wirings (31<SB>A1</SB>to 31<SB>A4</SB>or 31<SB>B1</SB>to 31<SB>B4</SB>) in a pressure chamber block 520 constituted of a specified number of the units of the pressure chamber, and differentiates the timing of pressure detection of each pressure chamber connected with the mutually adjacent wirings 31<SB>A4</SB>and 31<SB>B1</SB>between the pressure chamber blocks 520.
