METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MARINE ELECTRICAL EXPLORATION OF OIL AND GAS FIELDS

A set of inventions relates to exploration geophysics, in particular to equipment complexes for carrying out geophysical explorations by a provoked polarisation method and is used for forecasting hydrocarbon deposits in a shelf sea transition area at depths equal to or less than 10 m. The inventive research complex for marine electrical exploration comprises a set of bottom stations and a vessel provided with a generator and a unit for forming an exciting field generating discrete bipolar pulses which are connected to a submersed horizontal towed dipole provided with power supply electrodes, recording devices and auxiliary units. Said bottom stations are provided with streamers which are positioned along and transversally to a shooting line and each of which comprises at least three measuring electrodes remote from each other at a distance of 50-500 m. The inventive complex makes it possible to obtain data containing information about depth rocks resistance and the polarisation characteristics thereof, thereby enabling to produce a more reliable forecast of possible hydrocarbon resources of in a studied area.
