VLA-4 INHIBITORY DRUG

A VLA-4 inhibitory drug which has satisfactory oral absorbability and produces a sufficient anti-inflammatory effect upon oral administration. Also provided is a compound represented by the following general formula (I): (I) [wherein R¹ represents hydrogen or C_1-8 alkyl; R² represents hydrogen, halogeno, C_1-8 alkoxy, or optionally substituted benzyloxy; Q represents an optionally substituted, mono- or bicyclic, heterocyclic group having one or more nitrogen atoms including one serving as the bonding site; Y represents oxygen or CH₂; W represents an optionally substituted bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbon group or optionally substituted bicyclic aromatic heterocyclic group; R^3a, R^3b, and R^3c each independently represents hydrogen, halogeno, C_1-8 alkoxy, or C_1-8 alkyl; and A¹ represents nitrogen or C-R^3d (wherein R^3d represents hydrogen, halogeno, C_1-8 alkoxy, or C_1-8 alkyl)] or a salt of the compound. The VLA-4 inhibitory drug contains the compound or salt as an active ingredient.
