<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a refractory material having less deformation and alkali erosion, being excellent in strength, Young's modulus, thermal conductivity and creep property at a high temperature, and capable of being fired at a low temperature, and a refractory material obtained thereby. <P>SOLUTION: The refractory material is manufactured by firing a compounded material consisting of 65-80 mass% of mullite and/or alumina with an average diameter of 100 μm-4 mm as aggregate, 10-33 mass% of alumina and/or mullite with an average diameter of 1-5 μm as a matrix composed of microparticles, and 3-8 mass% of SiO<SB>2</SB>with an average diameter of 0.5-10 μm containing an impurity of ≤7.5 mass% as a binder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
