ELECTRO-OPTICAL APPARATUS AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical apparatus capable of making a main panel narrow in its frame without impairing the display quality of a sub-panel in an electro-optical apparatus of a system in which the main panel and the sub-panel are driven by a common driving IC.

SOLUTION: This electro-optical apparatusis provided with: the main panel (a display area H1) including a first scanning line 15 and a data line 19; the sub-panel (a display area H2) including a second scanning line 35 and data lines 37 which are electrically connected to a data line 19; and a driving semiconductor device for supplying a signal to both the main panel and the sub-panel. The second scanning line 35 is electrically connected to the driving semiconductor via the main panel. Two pixel areas P2A and P2B corresponding to intersections of two adjoining data lines 37 and one second scanning line 35 on the sub-panel are placed in line with an extension direction of the data lines 37, and the second scanning line 35 supplies a scanning signal to the two pixel areas P2A and P2B.
