PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor squeak preventing spacer which facilitates insertion thereof into a gap between a floor joist and a sleeper, prevents slippage, and maintains floor squeak preventive effect over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The floor squeak preventing spacer 6 is made of a synthetic resin and integrally formed of: a thin tabular insertion portion 7 which is inserted into the gap between the floor joist and the sleeper and has a fixture releasing slit 10 formed therein; and a pair of right and left engaging pieces 8, 8 protruding from both of right and left sides of the thin tabular insertion portion 7 in a direction outside the gap and engaged with both side surfaces of the floor joist.
